The makers of the phenomenally successful Grand Theft Auto franchise have officially revealed the latest version of the series through a teaser logo on their website.

Rockstar Games confirmed plans for Grand Theft Auto V by announcing a teaser trailer to be released on November 2 – already a huge month for video game fans worldwide.

Grand Theft Auto’s creators will unveil the first footage of the game just days after the release of anticipated shoot-em-up Battlefield 3, and just six days before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 hits the shelves on Nov 8.

Cryptic: No details were revealed about Grand Theft Auto V, other than the date of the trailer for the game to be shown next month

The release of the cryptic and minimalist GTA V logo today immediately set video game forums into a flurry of speculation as to where the latest version of the game will be set.

Those who visit the Rockstar Games website are greeted simply with a black screen and a huge GTA V logo, with a green ‘V’ not dissimilar in colour and design to a U.S banknote.

GTA: THE STORY SO FAR

1997: Grand Theft Auto released, set in Liberty City (based on new York), San Andreas (California) and Vice City (Miami). The first incarnation was 2D, with the camera looking directly down on the cartoonish action. Controversially, players are rewarded for committing random acts of violence – a theme that runs through all GTA games.

1999: Expansion pack GTA London: 1969 and GTA London: 1961 released. They both had similar 2D gameplay to the original GTA.

1999: GTA II hits the shelves for PC and Playstation, set in an unnamed 2013 metropolis described as ‘Anywhere, USA’. Again, this used an overhead viewpoint.

2001: first 3D game in series, GTA III, set in Liberty City (New York) released on Playstation 2 and XBox. This release was a watershed in the series, with ‘go anywhere’ sandbox gameplay, mini-map locator and constant voice-acted speech.

2002: GTA: Vice City, set in a city based on Miami in 1986, is released.

2004: GTA: San Andreas is released, set in 1992 in a state based on California and Nevada, featuring cities based on LA, San Francisco and Las Vegas.

2008: The latest installment, GTA IV, is released, set in Liberty City. It was a best-seller, but its new drink-drive option landed it in hot water with campaigners.

A ‘five’ also appears on the logo, fueling internet speculation that the latest incarnation of the series could be set in Washington D.C.

Other fans of the series suggested it may move away from the U.S., and could even be set in London.

Grand Theft Auto IV, released in 2008 and which was at the time the fastest-selling video game in UK history, was set in a new York-style cityscape and featured trademark extreme violence and joyriding.

Since then, Rockstar Games have released similarly expansive games such as the spaghetti Western-themed Red Dead Redemption and crime thriller LA Noire.

Wherever its location, fans of the series will no doubt be expecting a return of the random graphic violence which has characterised the series and made it so controversial.

Complaintsof moral campaigners and its effect on the young have not stopped the series becoming one of the biggest franchises in gaming history.

Theseries has shifted over 115million units since the first Grand Theft Auto on the Playstation in 1997, while GTA IV sold 22million copies alone.

Alex Simmons, UK Editor in Chief of game site IGN, said: ‘The Grand Theft Auto games wrote the book for the sort of huge, free-roaming 3D world gamers expect today.

‘Theanticipation around Grand Theft Auto V is enormous – but Rockstar has alot more competition these days, not least from their own smash hit Western Red Dead Redemption.

‘Gamers are expecting something very big here – hopefully, Rockstar is inventive enough to deliver.’

Highly anticipated: Grand Theft Auto IV remains one of the most popular video games ever, having shifted 22million copies

The announcement of the trailer has certainly created a stir online, with GTA V quickly becoming a top Twitter trend.

Thousands of gamers have been tweeting their excitement about the game.

Fan Jason Akoi wrote: ‘GTA V?!?! The man upstairs has finally answered my prayers.’

Luke Terry, meanwhile, summed up the feelings of a great many gamers. he said: ‘A week today until the GTA V trailer. Exciting times are ahead guys icon wink Grand Theft Auto V: Rockstar Games to release trailer 6 days before of Call of Duty .’

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Scheduled For Release Christmas 2011

1319830387 88 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Scheduled For Release Christmas 2011

Rumor has it that the 8th title in the call of Duty series and the third of the Modern Warfare’s is to be released this November according to a report from the Los Angeles Times. Affectionately being referred to as Modern Warfare 3, the game is rumored to be released under a different – unknown title because of the legal issues with Infinity Ward.

Citing protected sources, the LA Times stated that Sledgehammer Games (also rumored to be working on yet another call of Duty title) and Raven Software have been called in assist Infinity Ward in order to complete Modern Warfare 3 in time for the holiday season. After the wipe out of Infinity Ward staff, where many of the developers left, Activision was forced to call in Sledgehammer Games from their work on their first title in the call of Duty Series said to be set in the future.

The word is that Sledgehammer is working with Infinity Ward on the single player campaign mode, while Raven completes the online/multiplayer portion of this game.

In March of last year IW executives Jason West and Vince Zampella were let go. since then more than 35 employees have left their employment at IW. Activision stated that they had more than 5000 applicants have inquired.

Keep in mind that none of the studios mentioned above have publicly announced which title would be released during 2011, but Activision did confirm that a new title in the series would be on the shelves near the end of 2011.

Some fans may be disappointed to find out that the rumor mill is also spinning about the story line for Modern Warfare 3. So far what we have heard is that this title will be a prequal to COD4 and players will follow the story from the perspective of Ghost. The disappointing part of all this is that players will re-visit levels from COD4 and Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty Black Ops

No Comments 27 October 2011

1319735003 54 Call of Duty Black Ops

Call of Duty Black OPS is a first shooter video game available on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and Nintendo DS consoles. Published by Activision, the game is an advancement on the Call of Duty: World at War video game.

Call of Duty Black OPS centers around the cold War era of the 1960′s and features Kennedy’s assassination among the other American obsessions like Cuba and Vietnam. for most part of this game you will be playing the role of Alex Mason a Studies and Observations Group (SOG) operator who is tortured and force to revisit his past military operations.

One of the major advancements in this installment of the Call of Duty series is in the Killstreak Rewards – rewards that players earn for making kills in a row without dying. These rewards are now stackable like in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, however Killstreak rewards earn on one level will not count towards the number of kills for the next reward.

This game also introduces a new feature called CoD points. CoD point is the in-game currency used in purchasing what you want as you play the game. you can earn CoD points by

1. Gameplay (gaining experience as you play the game).
2. Contracts (these are challenges you need to overcome).
3. Wager Matches (matches in which only the top three players get rewarded).

Call of Duty Black OPS is highly customisable and can be played in three main modes: Single Player, Zombie and Multiplayer. Also there are a number of requirements gamers need to meet to earn an achievement or trophy. for example destroying all slingshot targets in 3 attempts will earn you 15 points on the Xbox 360 and a bronze trophy on PS3.

Though gameplay is great, maps are too small and controls were a bit of hit-and-miss. Also some gamers might find the game too fast and furious for their liking. nevertheless the game is highly addictive and if you have got Xbox live, this game is destined to top the live leader board for a long time.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – Redemption Trailer

No Comments 20 October 2011

1319139244 99 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Redemption Trailer

The GamePro gang gives their impressions on the “Redemption” trailer for call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, showing more story and gameplay.

Chris: I’m sure at some later point, I’ll look back on the trailer and say “wow, they revealed the entire plot right there and I never put the pieces together.” For now, though, the trailer does everything it should: it teases you with answers but really gives you more questions. Who led the attacks against Europe? does the US repel the Russian invasion of NYC? Who are Price and co working for now? From what perspective is that horrific aircrash taking place? aside from Makorov, who else will the Americans be fighting in this game? All I can say is, with so many questions and so much hype surrounding this game, the ending of this story needs to be nothing short of perfect.

Jason: (Warning: this is not a troll. this is how I really feel about call of Duty.) I don’t need to watch a trailer. I hate call of Duty’s Modern War series. hate it, hate it, hate it. It’s power has hurt game development, resulting in so many studios focusing on military first-person shooters, adding multiplayer where it doesn’t make sense (really, Mass Effect 3?), and the yearly development cycle. And nothing short of a rabid rhino charging into my office, lather foaming from its mouth, will make me watch it.

Justin: whatever trepidation I might’ve felt when the original Infinity Ward team left to start their own company melts away when I watch trailers for this game. Sure, this one doesn’t really reveal much more than any of the other trailers that’ve come before it, but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t get my heart pumping every time I watch fighter jets fly over NYC or see an explosion rock the Eiffel Tower.

It’ll be hard to hold back the cliches and hyperbole when this game comes out, and I expect to get sick of reading the words “adrenaline-fueled,” “heart-pumping,” and “thrill ride”…but if MW3 can even live up to a part of what these kinds of trailers promise, than those might be pretty apt descriptors.

Pat: even the most adamant anti-Modern Warfare gamer will likely admit that its creators consistently do a good job of cranking up the level of intensity and excitement with each new release. And judging from this new trailer for Modern Warfare 3, the latest installment is no exception. Sure, it’s not the most innovate video-game franchise around. And yeah, that rumbling, Inception-like “Baaaawwwwwwwm” playing throughout the MWF3 trailer is a bit much. but Activision’s shooter series is still a visual spectacle that gets (a little) better with every release. I’m beyond excited to jump into Modern Warfare 3, which is shaping up to be one of the best action games of 2011.

McKinley: is Christian Bale the main villain in this game or what? Cheesy voiceover aside, this clip looks awesome, and already shows off some of the best parts of the single-player campaign in MW3: free-falling in Air Force One, driving a battle robot with a mounted mini-gun, and fighting a tank while driving though traffic. but, it’s pretty silly how the dev team needs to show every important world landmark on fire. France’s Eiffel Tower gets blown up, London’s big Ben gets scorched, and even New York City is in cinders, sans the Twin Towers. What’s next — dual rockets exploding right through the palms of Brazil’s “Christ the Redeemer” statue?

Julian: It’s like someone mixed together the words “epic”, “hardcore” and “awesome” in a blender powered by a 6.0 liter 550 horsepower V8 engine to create the most ULTRAGASM patty in history, that’s then flash roasted over the fires of Armageddon itself, and spread with pure adrenaline extracted from a 6 foot 5 inch muscle-man shouting AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHH until his veins are throbbing out of his forehead like epileptic snakes, and then slipped between two massive buns made out of C4, which then explodes right in my face when I try to take a bite. I hope the game has a warning on it: this game is so effing hardcore, it will explode your testicles from 20 feet. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Top Three First Person Shooters to Follow

No Comments 20 October 2011

1319078047 66 Top Three First Person Shooters to Follow

We are quickly coming up on the holiday season, which to most gamers means one thing: Amazing first person shooters are being released soon. The competition between the FPSs this year will be fierce and deciding where your money goes will be tough.

There are three first person shooters that you should keep your eyes on: call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3 and Rage.

Hype around these three games has been phenomenal and each production company is obviously touting that their title is the best; however, the choice really breaks down to what type of first person shooter you really want to play.

RAGE – October 4, 2011

Rage’s main selling point thus far has been that it is being developed by Id Software, the team that created the DOOM and Quake franchises. like the previous Id Software releases, Rage is filled with horrific creatures, giant guns and lies in a post-apocalyptic setting. Rage is going to be the type fast-paced over the top gaming that both casual and hardcore gamers will enjoy. Vehicle combat, mutants, raider gangs and the Authority will be presented in awesome graphics via Id Software’s new idTech 5 technology, promising a gaming experience like no other before it.

CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE 3 – November 8, 2011

Modern Warfare’s trilogy is finally coming to an end this November and gamers couldn’t be more excited about the prospect. Each year for the past 6 years, a new call of Duty game has been released and they have all consistently been rated extremely well by critics and fans alike. this installment in the Modern Warfare series is sporting new weapons, updated graphics and an end to a fascinating multi-game storyline. Nevertheless, the selling point for Modern Warfare 3 is by far its online gaming. As far as sales and online gaming activity go, MW3 will easily be the victor among any other first person shooter during the upcoming year.

BATTLEFIELD 3 – October 25, 2011

Battlefield 3 is looking to be MW3′s primary competition this year in that it is a first person shooter designed around contemporary battle that utilizes strong storytelling and impressive weaponry. However, among fans of the series, that is about where the similarities end. The battlefield series is known for its complex gaming, vehicular combat and intense online play. Battlefield 3, like its predecessors, is pushing the envelope of realism with environmental and gravitational effects being applied to bullets as well as some of the best graphics ever presented in a video game. for hardcore gamers, Battlefield 3 is a must-buy game and surely won’t disappoint.

CONCLUSION

The choice between what games a consumer purchases is ultimately up to them and these three games will offer distinctly different experiences:

- Rage: to escape reality and hunt down representations of oppression and evil.

- Modern Warfare 3: Casual and serious gamers looking for the widest range of competition gratification

- Battlefield 3: Hardcore gamers who want a more realistic gaming experience via physics and graphics

Medal of Honor 2010 Vs CoD6 Modern Warfare 2 – Can the New MoH Nick Top Spot?

No Comments 16 October 2011

1318739680 81 Medal of Honor 2010 Vs CoD6 Modern Warfare 2 Can the New MoH Nick Top Spot?

Medal of Honor vs CoD6 Modern Warfare 2; surely the most anticipated first-person shooter battle of 2010. if you’re a fan of the call of Duty series, Modern Warfare 2 will be familiar to you. But what about the new Medal of Honor coming later this year? can the revived Medal of Honor series topple Modern Warfare 2 from top spot, and become the most popular first-person-shooter ever?

If you’ve reviewed the latest trailer for the new Medal of Honor game, you may be thinking it looks nothing new compared to CoD6. at first glance it looks familiar. Medal of Honor puts you in war-torn Afghanistan just like Modern Warfare 2, and for that reason alone, you may be considering owning both But can MoH muscle in on the action and be crowned ‘Best First-Person-Shooter of 2010?

In this article we’ve put together a brief outline of both games and we’d like to invite you to vote for your favourite title.

If you’re like the tens of thousands of gaming fans out there, you can’t get enough of this type of first-person-shooter action. if you’ve followed either of the call of Duty series of Medal of Honor games, you’ll know the graphics have taken a massive leap forward which have added enormously to the realism, weapons, gameplay and perks. Couple this to the latest Xbox 360 or PC with a big monitor and surround sound, and you have one helluva realistic gaming experience

Currently MW2 is logging over 4 times the online gameplay as its nearest competitor in fact several other developers suspended their release dates when the call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 release date was announced back in October 2009, such was the anticipated demand. and they were right. CoD6 was officially the most popular game at Christmas selling at an unprecedented rate and is still currently the number 1 first-person-shooter.

Modern Warfare 2 has been able to build on Modern Warfare series with its second offering, and as such has a massive advantage over the pending Medal of Honor game. But will it have it all its own way when the new Medal of Honor is released later in 2010?

The new Medal of Honor puts players in surroundings familiar to CoD6, but make no mistake, this is an all-new first-person shooter and the first time the franchise has moved from the World War 2 arena to modern warfare, so the action should be fast-paced and intense, just like CoD6.

According to the developers, Medal of Honor will introduce the Tier 1 Operator: a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle. This level of realism has been influenced by working closely with REAL Tier 1 Operators from the US Special Operations Community, so it doesn’t get any more realistic than this

Inspired by real events, Medal of Honor reveals the mission of today’s most elite soldier – his will, his mindset and his uncompromising professionalism according to EA Games.

We know how good call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is; ask any Xbox 360 fan after a 3 hour session of flesh-ripping, action-packed carnage with the new medal of Honor looking to possess the same realism and graphics as the call of Duty Modern Warfare series, what will differentiate each game?

So familiar is Medal of Honor judging by the online trailer, it could easily be a new series of maps for CoD6. so, it must be the game-play and missions. new weapons perhaps? more vehicle action? Who knows. We have to wait and see and if you already own call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, the chance to extend your gameplay to another title of the same genre may be just too good to miss

Currently there are no new announcements from Activision that they will be releasing any updates at or around the release date of Medal of Honor later this year, but can we suspect anything to stem the potential migration to Medal of Honor?

jay electronica Jay Electronica Speaks On New Song Call Of Duty (Modern Warfare 3)

Jay Electronica Talks “Call of Duty (Modern Warfare 3)”

Now that Roc Nation artist Jay Electronica has blessed the masses with a new song, the New Orleans rapper took to his Tumblr page to give some insight on the new track, working with Mobb Deep and his thoughts on the music industry.

Via Eye of Eℒectronica:

i wouldn’t have believed it myself if i hadn’t experienced it.

within just 24 hours, i wrote a record to give away online, summoned the legendary Infamous Mobb Deep via out of the blue tweets and we released a record together. I became a trending topic Worldwide within 3 minutes of its release and actually penetrated radio. just heard the news that the Great Zane Lowe will premiere the record in the United Kingdom tonight as ‘The Hottest Record in The World”.

All of the above is attempted daily by major music corporations who have teams of ppl spending excessive amounts of money and still fall short of the goal. My methodology is quite different, but we must agree… it works. and on a pretty consistent basis. with exponential growth. every. single. time.

i’d like to take this time to quote my mom …”thats pretty damn good son!”

i guess it is.

and this isn’t even a single.

or even a song from my album.

its just a dope ass beat, with some (extra) dope rhymes from me and 2 of My favorite hip hop artists of all time, who woke up yesterday not even knowing they’d be on a record with me a few hours later.

Look at the atmosphere all in a stir.

if i were a younger me, right now is probably where i would say, “dog, look around. I’m the fucking man ouchea”

good thing I’m striving to grow.

i wouldn’t have believed it myself if i hadn’t experienced it.

I am Thankful and Grateful for This Blessing Filled Journey

Take another listen to Jay Electronica’s “Call of Duty” here.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

1318088152 40 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

It seems that yet again the Call of Duty series will be adding another chapter to one of the best-selling first-person shooters games in the world. This installment of the franchise will be developed by the Infinity Ward Studios. If you haven’t noticed by now, Infinity Ward and Trearch take turns developing the Call of Duty series, and each developer has their own special features they like to apply to their perspective game.

The previous game, Call of Duty: Black Ops was produced by Trearch. they focus more on battles that have taken place all throughout history and incorporate features such as the very popular Zombie modes. While on the other side is Infinity Ward. their Modern Warfare series adds the very addicting spec-ops mode and arguably one of the best multi-player experiences on any console. Infinity Ward usually bases their battles on events at have happened more recently.

Infinity Ward has made some major changes since they finished Modern Warfare 2, mainly in their development team. they have lost some of their developers to other companies, and many of the people that play the game seem to think that this is going to effect the quality of the new game that will be coming out in early November. However, Infinity Ward always seems to deliver a top-notch game no matter what anybody else thinks or says.

The games single-player campaign takes place in many locations around the world and is said to start off right where the Modern Warfare 2 story left off. I have enjoyed the previous campaigns of the Call of Duty series and I am sure I will enjoy this one as well. But, for me and probably everyone else out there, the main attraction is the online multi-player. I’m not sure at this point what new features will be included in that game but I have read that there will be some new perks and kill streaks that will make the game play more interesting than before. another rumor that I have run across is that there will be dedicated servers for online play. Which, if true means that all of those nagging server and disconnecting issues will be almost non-existent. Which is tremendous news for all those gamers that have had their host back out of the game right before the match ends, which is one of the most aggravating issues that I have come across.

Along with these few things I have mentioned, I’m sure there will be many more updates to Modern Warfare 3 that make the playing of the game more enjoyable. I am very excited to get to play this game.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Survival mode preview

No Comments 28 September 2011

1317227751 60 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Survival mode preview

Confession time: I’m terrible at online shooters. Yet this fact apparently makes me the perfect guinea pig to test out Modern Warfare’s newest game mode. My host from Sledgehammer Games (co-developing the latest entry in the world’s biggest shooter franchise with original developers Infinity Ward) explains that Survivor is for those who want something akin to the multiplayer experience minus the ignominy of being shot every five seconds. after all, it can be hard to level up when you can barely stay alive long enough to fire off a round, let alone send anyone to the morgue. “We have 33 million players now,” I’m informed. “Naturally, some are better than others.”

Survival sees one or two players tackle increasingly difficult waves of enemies in a more realistic take on World at War’s Nazi Zombies mode. The one level here at GAMEfest takes place in a grey Parisian suburb, apparently cordoned off from the rest of the city for the purposes of urban warfare. It’s not the only gamey element in what otherwise seems like an authentic depiction of modern conflict – between rounds you can access laptops which offer weapons, armour, ammunition and tactical support options in return for the cash you’ve earned for every kill. You can still access them during each round, but you’ll need to put some space between you and the enemy, or get your partner to watch your back while you tap in your request for a holographic site and a few mags.

Wave 1 starts with a small group of shotgun-wielding attackers, and gradually the action escalates. Seven or eight waves in and you’ll be forced to take down a helicopter. Shortly afterwards a Juggernaut (basically a super-soldier with bomb-proof armour) appears on the scene. He’s fairly swiftly disposed of, thanks to our deployment of Delta Squad – a group of four soldiers dropped into battle to track the players’ every move and provide assistance in the close-quarters firefights. a mobile turret positioned on a car’s roof is enough to deal with the next wave of foes, though my partner is forced to revive me at one stage, while I return the favour shortly afterwards. Players can crawl slowly while bleeding out, but only the assistance of a team-mate will prevent death, and game over.

Yet this isn’t a war that can ever be truly won, with an infinite number of waves preventing even the most ardent Call of Duty fan from reaching the finish. I’m informed that the best Sledgehammer employees have managed is Wave 38, while a pair of expert players brought in to test the difficulty level apparently reached 57. Enemy groups won’t vary in size nor in their configuration, though their positioning will adjust according to the players’ locations, thus preventing sneaky players from camping at spawn points.

The Paris level, like all other Survival stages, is all but identical to the multiplayer map; indeed, every online level will be playable in this form. It’s likely to be one of the most compact maps in the entire game, with narrow streets and back-alleys keeping the action focused within a small area. It’s classic COD – slickly-presented skirmishes with intense bursts of roaring gunfire as bullets bite chunks out of Parisian masonry and thud into flesh. Friendly fire is turned on by default, but barring one minor incident involving a particularly feeble throw of a frag grenade the two of us reach Wave 11 without any serious problems.
